For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him.(Psalm 103:11)
Beloved! When we fear God, He surrounds us with mercy। It is the mercy of God that sustains us in this evil world. God says, “For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him” (Psalm 103:11). In Luke 1:28-30, the angel Gabriel came to the house of Mary and exclaimed to her, "Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!" (Luke 1: 28). But she was confused and feared at what he said. Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God” (Luke 1:30). The angel was sent by God to inform that she would give birth to Jesus Christ. The people who find favour with God are His children, His dear ones. The Lord also desires to surround us with mercy like Mary when we fear Him. God’s mercy is on those who fear Him from generation to generation (Luke 1:50).The Bible says, “Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning" (Lamentations 3:22, 23). It is very true that because of His mercies we are not consumed. As His mercies are new every morning, we should seek the Lord in prayer early morning. Many times I would go to bed at midnight. There were times when I used to sleep only at around 2.00 a.m. But the Lord would wake me up early to seek Him in prayer. Because I sought the Lord early in the morning, He gave me the grace to do my household chores and ministry work well. Beloved! I urge you to seek God early in the morning. You may be in any kind of problem but the Lord has answer to it. “With everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you" says the Lord (Isaiah 54: 8). Yes, the Lord will surely have mercy on us and lead us in victory. Prayer:Loving Heavenly Father,I come to Your presence in humble adoration. Let Your mercy surround me as it surrounded Mary. Father, help me to seek You early in the morning and receive Your grace and strength needed for the day. Bless me and my family and my descendants. In Jesus’ name I pray.Amen.
