For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich।(2 Corinthians 8:9)
Beloved! It is desire of Jesus Christ that you should be blessed and well in life. The Almighty God Who was living in glory, splendour and majesty came down to earth in the form of Jesus Christ. He came into this world to redeem us from poverty, sickness and hopelessness. The Bible says, “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich” (2 Corinthians 8: 9). Yes, Jesus Christ traversed the wicked path of this world to understand our sufferings. When Jesus Christ, Son of God was doing His Ministry in this world, He healed the sick and those oppressed by the devil. Some of the women, who had been healed by Him provided Him with food and clothing from their wealth and ministered unto Him (Luke 8:1-3). On another instance He said, “… Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head” (Luke 9:58).He was striped of His clothes when He was crucified and the Roman soldiers cast lots for His tunic (John 19:23, 24). Many years ago we had been abroad on ministry. When we finished our ministry there, a pastor offered to arrange for sight seeing of that place. He arranged a person and his luxury car for the sight seeing. After visiting several places we were all seated in a spot, waiting for our lunch. At that time the brother who took us in his luxury car, shared his story with us. He said, “My parents died when I was very young. I was the eldest of the eight children to my parents and did not know how to maintain the big family. I earned a little money by carrying loads, lugging them in a wheel-cart. I did not have proper footwear to protect my feet from the harsh weather. One day I was dragging the wheel-cart loaded with heavy bundles and I had tied sack-cloth around my feet as footwear. As the day was very hot and lugging the cart wheel, I unwitting stepped onto tar surfaced road. I did not notice that the pitch had melted and I stepped on to it! My feet got stuck into the melting tar and I experienced great agony! I endured the excessive pain for the sake of my family. I prayed in tears and agony holding the cart and asked the Lord to end my poverty. The Compassionate Lord heard my cry because He went through sufferings on the cross (Matthew 27:46). Later, He enabled me to come to this country within a few days. He has blessed the labour of my hands and made me rich. The Lord has given me great wealth and I have this luxury car.” We were moved and praised the Lord at how He had exalted the brother in life. Yes, Beloved! You may go through financial shortage, sickness, or poverty. But Lord Jesus Christ came into this world to wipe away all these forever. Believe in Him and He will forgive your sins and make you holy. He shall cause all the lacks to disappear and fill your life with blessings. May this Christmas be a joyous one for you!Prayer:Loving Lord Jesus, I praise and thank You that You came to earth to understand the sufferings I go through in life and give me grace to overcome them. Lord, I praise You that You make me righteous and holy and there is forgiveness and protection in Your blood. I praise and thank You that You make me rich and I have all the blessings in You. I give You all glory, honour and praise.Amen.
